Resident Involvement

Giving tenants and residents a greater say is very high on the housing sector’s agenda for many reasons, including:

  • Ministers insist tenant involvement must be ‘at the heart’ of housing organisations (and promise less regulation in return)
  • The Elton Review recommends that resident involvement should be ‘core business’ for ALL housing associations
  • Audit Commission inspections include Resident Involvement as a key component (KLOE 5) Their research demonstrates the ‘considerable’ benefits of resident involvement - to the business, to residents and to the wider community.
