The Learning
Together Partnership
The
Learning Together Partnership is a training group of 18 housing
organisation based in the Greater Manchester area. The training is
facilitated and delivered by PEP and its prime objective is
“to provide high quality training to tenants, residents and
staff working in the members’ areas of influence”.
The
Partnership came into being in 2009, and last year delivered seven full
day training conferences in a variety of venues across the region. In
the annual report, the Project Manager; Nick Wigg, said “The
Partnership has delivered a highly successful year’s
training. Around 400 delegates received training and participated in
development of ideas around topics such as; Tenant Monitoring, Value
for Money and the New TSA Regulations.”
This
year, most members have renewed their annual membership subscriptions
and there are several new members considering joining the Partnership.
This
year, the background topic is Best Practice. All the seminars will be
drawing on the experience of members to find ways of sharing
information on the best practice in six new topics, as follows:
Financial Management, The Big Society, Value for Money, Community
Safety, Involvement in Repairs Management, Tenant Involvement in
Scrutiny. Members plan to play a more hands on role in the delivery of
the training, providing staff from across the region, to bring good
practice to the training room.
The
Partnership have produced a new brochure
that explains the programme and invites delegates to indentify the
parts of the programme that they are interested in, at an early stage,
to assist in planning future conferences.
The
2011/2012 programme starts at the Centre for Professional Development
in Oldham in April 2011.
Manchester
Learning Together Partnership
GMLTP
is
a group of 15 Social Landlords who have come together to
share the cost of putting on meaningful training/capacity building
session for our
customers.
The group was born
out of
responding to an email from Nick Wigg (PEP) inviting Social Landlords
in Manchester to work with PEP to develop a learning forum.
From this initial
contact the group has developed and grown, now in its 2nd
year, we have held in
excess of 10 sessions covering topics such as the Big Society, Mystery
Shopping, Debt/Money Management, Value for Money (participatory
budgeting) and
find our customers really enjoy the sessions, not only for the
knowledge they
gain, but also the networking opportunity it gives them.
